Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Radiologic MRI Technologist to perform high-quality MRI examinations and ensure patient safety. You will educate patients, position them correctly, and operate MRI systems while coordinating with physicians and staff.

The role requires MRI expertise, patient-focused service, and compliance with safety standards across shifts, including night weekends in Florida.

Qualifications

• Requires MRI technologist certification and ARRT or equivalent licensure.
• Experience in radiology and MRI training program preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Must maintain all required registries and licenses.
• Knowledge of PACS and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and safe for MRI procedures.
• Educate patients about MRI procedures and safety precautions.
• Position patients and operate MRI scanners and related equipment.
• Administer IV contrast following safety guidelines and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Maintain documentation in EMR and PACS; perform QC checks as required.

Job Description:

$10,000.00 SIGN ON (1-YEAR COMMITTMENT) -TO QUALIFIED CANDIDATES $1,500.00 RELOCATION - TO QUALIFIED CANDIDATES SHIFT: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 6pm-6:30am

• Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
• Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
• Educates patients and family members about MRI procedures, contrast use, and safety precautions, promoting comfort and cooperation throughout the exam.
• Positions patients accurately and comfortably using appropriate immobilization and coil placement techniques to ensure high-quality imaging.
• Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions.
• Performs and documents daily system quality control (QC) checks in compliance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements.
• Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
• Performs high-quality MRI examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols to ensure diagnostic image quality and patient safety.
• Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications (e.g., implanted devices, metal, claustrophobia, contrast allergies).
• Screens all patients, staff, and equipment for MRI safety compliance per facility policy and current safety standards, including completion of required screening documentation.
• Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages.
• Other duties as assigned.
