Job Summary
The MRI Technologist I performs procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards. Operates MRI Scanners and associated equipment proficiently, including scanner, post-processing stations/programs, IV contrast injectors, O2 and suction equipment, patient transport, and patient monitoring equipment.
Essential Functions
Physical Requirements
Requires moderate to heavy physical effort in lifting and moving patients, equipment, and supplies. Occasional standing, walking, and sitting. Frequently involves stretching, bending, twisting, squatting, or kneeling. May be exposed to various physical conditions such as walking on hard surfaces, climbing stairs, and proximity to moving equipment. Must follow radiation safety guidelines to prevent exposure to ionizing radiation.
Education, Experience, and Certifications
Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA-approved program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology or actively enrolled in an ARMRIT or ARRT registry-eligible program. ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology, ARRT, or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine, with advanced registry from ARMRIT or ARRT in MRI, required within one year of hire. CPR certification required and must be current.
