Job summary

Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance is the state’s largest orthopaedic surgery group, delivering comprehensive imaging services across multiple locations. This MRI technologist role requires proficient knowledge of MRI principles, patient positioning, and safety practices to produce high-quality examinations.

You will work across TOA clinics in Middle Tennessee, supporting radiology staff, and floating between sites as needed, with a focus on accurate imaging and patient comfort.

Qualifications

• Completion of AS, BS or certificate in Radiologic Technology.
• Registered in MRI or registered in MRI within one year of completing training.
• Extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
• Knowledge of MRI principles and pulse sequences.
• Ability to properly position patients and program imaging for high quality MR examinations.
• Excellent patient services skills including assisting claustrophobic patients.

Responsibilities

• Position patients and set up MRI studies with appropriate protocols.
• Recognize pathology and adjust scanning parameters as needed.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and radiologists to deliver accurate scans.
• Maintain MRI safety practices and QA procedures.

Requirements

• Must be willing to float; Nashville, Hendersonville, Clarksville, Murfreesboro, Smyrna


• Completion of A.S., B.S. or certificate in Radiologic technology


• Registered in MRI or registered in MRI within one year of completing training Extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology


• Extensive knowledge of medical terminology


• Knowledge of MRI principles and pulse sequences


• Ability to properly position patients and program imaging to ensure high quality and accurate MRI examinations


• Ability to recognize pathology and adjust scanning parameters


• Must be capable of interacting and communicating with nurses, physicians and radiologist


• Knowledge of MRI safety practices


• Understanding basic quality control and quality assurance procedures


• Basic networking and PACs knowledge


• Excellent patient services skills including working with claustrophobic patients


• Dependable and capable of adjusting schedules to meet workload demands and staffing demands


• Ability to properly perform venipuncture and contrast administration
