Job description

Responsibilities include:

  1. Maintaining a safe MRI environment, operating MRI scanners and ancillary equipment safely, completing workflows in RIS and PACS, and ensuring equipment cleanliness.
  2. Applying knowledge of anatomy and positioning, screening implants, producing quality images, and participating in departmental communications.
  3. Communicating effectively within the team, ensuring safety and quality, and adhering to HIPAA and safety standards.
  4. Maintaining professionalism, pursuing professional growth, and keeping licenses and certifications current.
  5. Verifying patient identity and exam details, preparing patients, explaining procedures, documenting history, and adhering to infection control practices.
  6. Contributing to department goals related to quality, safety, and service, including performance improvement initiatives.

Education and experience required:

  • Graduate of an accredited MRI technology program.
  • Preferred: 6+ months of experience.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Effective communication skills, basic computer skills, RIS familiarity, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certification: ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT, CPR certification.

Physical requirements and working conditions include flexibility in scheduling, potential exposure to hazards, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and working in the MRI environment.
