Job description

As an MRI Technologist, you are responsible for patient safety and the performance of high-quality MR studies, on site and/or remote. Ensures effective communication with Radiologists, team members, patients, and customers, especially in the mobile environment. When required, trains and/or orients new technologists, Patient Coordinators, and/or MR Technologist Assistants.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

1. Responsible for Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection technique, and may require remote MR Technologists Assistant oversight.
2. Produces high-quality diagnostic images. Operation of multiple MR systems may be required.
3. Demonstrates the ability to use all channels of communication to address concerns, solve problems, and resolve conflicts.
4. Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.
5. Trains and/or orients new technologists, patient coordinators, and MR Technologist Assistants, on site and/or remote.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
2. ARRT (R) or ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT as allowable by contract in lieu of ARRT.
3. State license, if applicable.
4. CPR Certification.
5. Technologists registered in other modalities: 3 months supervised MRI clinical scanning experience OR currently enrolled for more than 6 months in an accredited MRI training program.
6. MR registered technologist RT(MR) or ARMRIT: No experience required.
7. Ability to work at multiple locations.
8. Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
9. Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
10. The COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
11. Local travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
2. Registry in Magnetic Resonance by the ARRT.
3. One year of Magnetic Resonance Imaging experience.

Physical Requirements:

1. Exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit.
2. Exposed to a strong magnetic field.
3. May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious or communicable diseases when interacting with patients.
4. More than 50% of the time: sit, stand, walk; repetitive movements; communicate with patients.
5. Less than 50% of the time: stoop, kneel, crawl, climb, balance, carry, and lift patients.
