Qualifications

Role Overview:

The MRI Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort while producing high-quality images for diagnosis and treatment. They operate MRI equipment, prepare patients, and assist with procedures, following established protocols and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain complete clinical history, review images, and assess patient conditions.
• Ensure proper patient identification, privacy, and comfort during procedures.
• Prepare and position patients, administer contrast when appropriate, and follow pre- and post-procedural care protocols.
• Operate MRI equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and maintain equipment cleanliness and safety.
• Communicate clearly with patients, explaining procedures to reduce anxiety using AIDET principles.
• Assist in training staff, participate in quality control, and maintain documentation accuracy.
• Transport, support, and ensure proper patient preparation for imaging studies.
• Perform clerical duties like patient charging and restocking supplies, maintaining a safe environment.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum one year of clinical experience, preferably in MRI.
• Certification as an ARMRIT or ARRT-MR and BLS certification required.
• Strong communication, customer service, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in MRI procedures, anatomy, pathology, and safety protocols.
