Job Summary and Qualifications

The MRI Technologist operates MRI scanners in inpatient and outpatient settings, performing diagnostic imaging procedures. Responsibilities include obtaining consent, preparing patients, explaining procedures, and ensuring quality images. Patient age range varies from newborn to geriatric.

Responsibilities

• Provide care appropriate to the patient's condition and age.
• Determine suitable positioning and shield patients accordingly.
• Collaborate with physicians and imaging staff.
• Practice aseptic/sterile techniques.
• Work within the MRI Tech scope of practice per policies.
• Follow infection control protocols.
• Complete documentation accurately after each case.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of employment.
• Registered Radiographer (ARRT).
• Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) certification.
• State Registered Radiologic Technician.
• High School Graduate or GED.
