Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is looking for an MRI Technologist to join our Radiology team. This PRN role involves performing MRI procedures under the direction of a Radiologist, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and adhering to regulations and policies.

Ideal candidates will have graduated from an accredited A.R.R.T. program and possess relevant certifications. You will need to be available for at least 12 hours bi-weekly, with the possibility of additional hours based on departmental needs.

Qualifications

• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification.
• ARRT-MR certification required.
• CPR certification required.
• BLS with AHA certification required.

Job Description

The MRI Technologist, under the direction of the Radiologist and Radiology Director, performs all MRI procedures in accordance with ACR, ARRT, state regulations, and departmental policies. The MRI tech is responsible for ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures, operating sophisticated equipment, and exhibiting expertise in patient care across all demographics. Other duties are performed as required.

PRN Status Clause

This is a PRN as‑needed position; you must be available to work at least 12 hours bi‑weekly, as needed according to departmental demands. You may be required to work additional hours if requested by your supervisor to accomplish work objectives. Work hours may vary (increase or decrease) depending on the needs of the unit.

Minimum Training and Education

• Graduate of an approved and accredited A.R.R.T. program.
• Graduate of an approved and accredited MRI program.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations

• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and ARRT-MR certification.
• CPR certification required.
• SCRQSA preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) with American Heart Association (AHA) required.
