Job summary

Envision Imaging is seeking a PRN MRI Technologist to join our team for Saturday shifts, with a pay range of $37.51 to $48.35 per hour. The role requires MRI expertise, proper certifications, and a patient-focused approach.

The candidate will collaborate with radiologists, maintain equipment, and ensure safety protocols are followed in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• MRI technologist with ARRT MR or ARMRIT certification.
• Graduate of an accredited Registered Technologist program.
• Current state license if applicable.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI procedures per protocol and prepare patients.
• Review charts and screen for implants and allergies.
• Obtain prior films and submit high-quality scans for interpretation.
• Care for patient before, during, and after exam and monitor condition.
• Transfer images to other locations as needed.
• Coordinate scan protocols with Radiologist.
• Maintain and inspect equipment; report failures.
• Collaborate with Lead Technologist and Center Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Envision Imaging seeks a PRN MRI Technologist at our location. PRN (As-Needed) / Saturday Availability 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM | Position Pay Range: $37.51 - $48.35

Summary/Objective

Performs MRI procedures according to protocol and age-specific needs, including patient preparation. Maintains and monitors patient environment, adheres to safety procedures, and contributes to the security and maintenance of the unit.

Essential Functions

1. Interfaces with the patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image.

2. Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent. Screens patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.

3. Obtains prior films/exams as needed and performs high quality scans to submit to the Radiologist for interpretation.

4. Performs exams while attending to patient’s care before, during and following exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient’s condition changes at any time.

5. Transfers images to other locations as needed.

6. Coordinates scan protocols with Radiologist.

7. Maintains and regularly inspects equipment and immediately reports any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies.

8. Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Center/Area Manager regarding any and all departmental concerns.

9. Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervision responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in an environmentally controlled outpatient clinical environment. Potential exposure to radiation, which is minimized by the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Possible exposure to bodily fluids, communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a medical office environment. Often requires work in cool, dimly lighted rooms.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications/Experience

• Two plus years’ experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) – preferred
• Ability to educate patients on procedures being performed
• Detail oriented, self-motivated, a problem solver and a team player
• Ability to navigate multiple computer screens and browsers quickly and accurately
• Ability to excel in a very fast-pace team environment
• Ability to continuously “exceed” company and customer expectation
• Strong communication skills & professional demeanor

Education/Certifications

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Technologist program
• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification with Registry in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) or current American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
• Current license from state medical board (if applicable)
• Current CPR certification
