Join to apply for the MRI Technologist - PRN role at MedStar Health

MedStar Health is seeking an MRI Technologist to join our team at Southern Maryland Hospital. As an MRI Technologist, you will perform diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations according to established protocols, providing efficient, high-quality patient care and excellent customer service.

Primary Duties:

  1. Conduct patient interviews to identify contraindications and medical conditions, and perform appropriate examinations based on patient history.
  2. Verify prescription and protocol, use appropriate imaging parameters, and inject contrast based on patient weight after verifying renal function. Ensure image quality and document examinations accurately in all relevant systems.
  3. Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure cleanliness of the work area. Prepare films and CDs upon request.
  4. Assist in developing and implementing protocols. Train new personnel and students on procedures, protocols, and policies.
  5. Collect quality control data and complete system functions for patient information, billing, and examinations.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or formal training in an AMA-accredited Radiologic Technology/Magnetic Resonance Imaging program.
  • Experience or completion of a formal MRI training program.
  • Successful completion of ARRT MRI or ARMRIT exam within one year of hire for unregistered technologists.
  • BLS certification.

This position offers a hiring range of $34.98 - $62.52 per hour.
