Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida is seeking a certified MRI Technologist to join our imaging team. You will perform high-quality MRI exams, ensure safety and ALARA, educate patients, and maintain EMR/PACS documentation.

Candidates will hold ARMRIT or ARRT MR, BLS, and at least 1 year radiology experience; strong communication and teamwork required; scheduling includes variable shifts; this role emphasizes patient care and technical precision.

Qualifications

• ARMRIT or ARRT MR certification is required; BLS certification required.
• 1+ year radiology experience and MRI training preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills required.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain ALARA.

Responsibilities

• Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
• Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
• Educates patients and family members about MRI procedures, contrast use, and safety precautions, promoting comfort and cooperation throughout the exam.
• Positions patients accurately and comfortably using appropriate immobilization and coil placement techniques to ensure high-quality imaging.
• Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions.
• Performs and documents daily system quality control (QC) checks in compliance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements.
• Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
• Performs high-quality MRI examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols to ensure diagnostic image quality and patient safety.
• Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications.
• Screens all patients, staff, and equipment for MRI safety compliance per facility policy and current safety standards.
• Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages.
• Other duties as assigned.
