Job summary

AdventHealth in Apopka, FL is seeking a PRN MRI Technologist to perform high-quality MRI exams and ensure patient safety and comfort. The role requires knowledge of MRI procedures, scanners, and safety protocols, with strong communication and documentation skills.

You will work in a fast-paced hospital setting, align with physician orders, and maintain EMR/PACS records while upholding ALARA principles and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
• Associate [Preferred]
• ARMRIT or RT(MR) license preferred
• BLS certification required
• Knowledge of MRI safety and scanners is essential
• Ability to follow department policies and maintain EMR/PACS documentation
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff
• Experience in radiology and MRI training program is a plus

Responsibilities

• Maintains clean, stocked exam rooms and safety checks on equipment.
• Notifies staff when inventory is low.
• Educates patients about MRI procedures, contrast use, and safety.
• Positions patients for high-quality imaging with immobilization techniques.
• Prepares and administers IV contrast; monitors for adverse reactions.
• Performs daily QC checks per department policies.
• Follows patient identification, consent, and time-out procedures.
• Documents accurately in EMR and PACS.
• Performs MRI exams per physician orders and protocols.
• Reviews patient history to confirm exam appropriateness.
• Screens patients and staff for MRI safety per policy.
• Operates scanners, injectors, and monitors, adjusting protocols as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
