Job summary

Bridgeport Hospital, part of Yale New Haven Health, seeks an MRI technologist to perform high-quality MRI imaging under supervision of the Imaging Services Administrative Manager. The role supports patient-centered care and adheres to core values.

Responsibilities include protocol imaging, patient preparation, safety screening, and collaboration with radiologists. Requires RT(R) and CT license; MR experience preferred; strong communication and teamwork needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program.
• RT(R) required; MR preferred; CT State License required.

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI scanner and perform imaging per protocols.
• Explain procedures to patients to provide emotional support.
• Document patient information including contrast used and safety issues.
• Complete/edit charges for exams.
• Participate in teaching and professional growth.
• Keep up with new imaging protocols and advanced MRI techniques.
• Screen patients and staff for safety.
• Plan and implement care for assigned patients.
• Communicate effectively with patients during exams.
• Consult radiologist prior to non-protocol exams.
