Qualifications

• Graduation from an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program.
• Demonstrated technical skills to meet entry level standards of routine Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
• Licensure: RT(R) required, MR preferred; CT State License Required.

Responsibilities

• Performs a wide variety of technical and professional duties utilizing complex MRI scanner equipment.
• Follows routine protocols when imaging and refers to the doctor's exam requisition to ensure the correct exam is performed.
• Performs quality and compassionate patient care to ensure cooperation, safety, and satisfaction.
• Explains procedures to patients to offer emotional support.
• Documents all pertinent patient information including contrast amounts administered, contrast waste, and safety issues.
• Completes/edits charges for exams.
• Keeps current with new imaging protocols and techniques in MRI.
• Assesses patient safety screening information for accuracy prior to MRI scans.
• Plans and implements care for assigned patients and communicates effectively with patients and radiologists.
