Job summary

Nicklaus Children's Health System is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform MRI examinations and coordinate patient flow within the MRI suite. You will ensure correct exams, document findings, and uphold patient safety throughout each procedure.

Responsibilities include operating the MRI, coordinating with departments, and maintaining equipment and records. ARRT-MR/ARMRIT certification and CPR BLS are required, with ongoing education to stay current in MRI practices.

Qualifications

• Enrolled or completed MRI training or 3 years MRI technologist experience.
• Active ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification within 1 year of hire.
• Active CPR BLS certification throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Check patient chart or prescription to guarantee proper exam.
• Coordinate MRI exams with other departments and doctors' offices.
• Document all required information in patient log book and scan sheet.
• Maintain patient safety and monitor imaging quality during exams.
• Follow hospital patient-identification policy prior to examination.
• Inform supervisor of equipment repairs and keep MRI area clean.
• Stay current on MRI issues through ongoing education.
• Monitor patients in the MRI scanner with nursing assistance when appropriate.
• Operate MRI scanner to produce high quality diagnostic images.
• Perform scans promptly to minimize patient delays.
• Enter and transmit patient information to PACS after examination.
