Job summary

Atlantic-Medical-Imaging in New Jersey seeks Per Diem MRI Technologists to join our outpatient radiology team. You will perform scheduled and on-demand scans, ensure safety, and assist patients throughout the exam.

The role offers generous shift differentials, including extra $15/hour after 8pm weekdays and after 12pm Saturdays, plus $7.25/hour on Sundays. Per diem scheduling varies by location (Somers Point, Galloway, Egg Harbor Township).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited MRI program and ARRT or ARMRIT certification.
• Current BLS certification required prior to start.
• Venipuncture experience preferred or willing to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Conducts scheduled and on-demand MRI scans per department policies.
• Handles image reconstruction, archiving, filming, and other software tasks.
• Reviews diagnostic requests for correct anatomy and clinical history.
• Explains procedures to patients.
• Evaluates and ensures patient safety in the MRI environment, including screening protocols.
• Helps patients on/off MRI table using lift assist devices.
• Consults with the Radiologist and applies proper scanning protocols.
• Completes daily work schedules and documents procedures in RIS.
• Monitors patient flow and accommodates unscheduled studies.
• Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions; performs minor fixes to minimize downtime.
• Performs weekly system quality control and calibration procedures.
• Maintains daily inventory and assists in training new graduates and staff.

AMI is seeking Per Diem MRI Technologists to join the team! This is a great opportunity to join a growing outpatient Radiology practice.AMI offers the 401K retirement benefit to Per Diem employees. Offered rates increase based on years of work experience.Generous shift differential applies!Extra $15.00 per hour after 8pm on weekdays and after 12pm on Saturdays!Extra $7.25 per hour all day Sunday!The MRI Technologist is responsible for but not limited to:Conducts all scheduled and on-demand MRI scans according to department policies.Handles image reconstruction, archiving, filming, and other software tasks as directed by the Radiologist or standard procedures.Reviews diagnostic requests for correct anatomy and clinical history.Explains procedures to patients.Evaluates and ensures patient safety in the MRI environment, including following all screening protocols and ensuring patients wear gowns (no street clothes in the MRI room).Helps patients on and off the MRI table, using lift assist devices when needed.Consults with the Radiologist and apply proper scanning protocols as instructed.Completes daily work schedules and document procedures using the Radiology Information System.Monitors patient flow and accommodate unscheduled or add-on studies as needed.Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions; corrects minor system problems when possible to minimize downtime.Performs weekly system quality control and all required equipment calibrations, warm-up, and shutdown procedures, with proper documentation.Maintains daily inventory of medical and other supplies; obtains stock items as needed and reports when non-stock items need replenishing.Assists in training new graduates, employees, and students on AMI equipment as directed by management.Perform any additional duties as required and assigned.The following Per Diem schedule options are available:Somers Point, as needed on weekdays between 6:30am-11pm. Current and valid American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required prior to start of employment. Previous experience or certification in venipuncture preferred for the injection of contrast media via butterfly needle and IV catheter. If not currently trained/certified, must be willing to obtain. In-house training will be provided.Exceptional communication skills, including interpersonal, verbal, and written, are necessary for success in this position.
