Job summary

Atlantic-Medical-Imaging in Brick Township, NJ, is seeking a MRI Technologist in training to join our outpatient imaging team. This full-time cross-training opportunity will train you to operate MR systems, follow safety protocols, and collaborate with Radiologists while preparing for the ARRT MRI exam.

Candidates should be current or upcoming graduates of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program, ARRT registry-eligible (MRI), and able to complete venipuncture training.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be current or upcoming graduates of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT MRI registry eligible/registered as applicable.
• Current and valid BLS certification required prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Operate MR scanning unit with knowledge of system software and protocols.
• Evaluate patient screening for safety in the magnetic field; ensure patient safety.
• Consult with Radiologist and implement scanning protocols as directed.
• Complete daily work schedule and document in required forms.
• Monitor patient flow and accommodate unscheduled studies.
• Perform quality control testing, calibrations, and equipment warm-up/shut-down with proper documentation.
• Communicate maintenance needs to Chief Technologist/Office Administrator.
• Participate in meetings, continuing education, and in-house training.
• Demonstrate competency with patients across age groups; maintain safety and patient experience.

Offered rates increase based on years of work experience.Training for this position will prepare you for the role of MRI Technologist. The responsibilities of the MRI Technologist include, but are not limited to:Operating all aspects of MR scanning unit, incorporating extensive knowledge of system’s computer and all program modalities to perform scanning procedures and transfer images to film or software for interpretation;Evaluating screening to ensure patient safety in the magnetic field;Consulting with the Radiologist and implementing proper scanning protocols as directed;Completing daily work schedule, documenting in Zotec and on any required forms;Monitoring patient flow and accommodating unscheduled patients and add-on studies;As per office policy, performing all quality control testing, equipment calibrations, warm-up and shut down procedures with proper documentation;Advising the Chief Technologist/Office Administrator of the need for all maintenance, service and repair work;Participating in office meetings, in-service programs, continuing education programs and other designated activity;Responding to office codes, policies and procedures to ensure optimum patient, employee, visitor and physical plant safety and security;Demonstrating competency in dealing with patients in all age categories: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric; andPerforming all other duties as required and assigned.This full time, 40 hour per week position includes varying shift times Monday-Friday with rotating evenings & weekends. This position will provide coverage and receive training in the Toms River-Hooper Avenue, Brick, and Wall office locations.Candidates for this position must be a current or upcoming graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology, Ultrasound or accredited MRI program; registered or registry-eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT). Registered ARDMS Technologists must have professional scanning experience for consideration. Current and valid American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support certification is required prior to start of employment. Candidates must be willing to receive training and certification in venipuncture for the injection of contrast media via butterfly needle and IV catheter. In-house training will be provided. Must be willing to complete the MRI Cross Training program in accordance with the Cross Training Agreement, and successfully achieve the ARRT MRI registry.Exceptional communication skills, including interpersonal, verbal, and written, are necessary for success in this position.
