Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform imaging studies in Miramar, Florida, adhering to department protocols and safety standards.

You will educate patients, position and acquire high-quality images, review orders, and support workflow while on call as required. The role requires ARRT or ARMRIT registration within a year and BLS certification, with an accredited imaging program background.

Qualifications

• Registered in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) by the ARRT or ARMRIT within one calendar year of hire.
• BLS certification required by American Heart Association.
• Graduate of an accredited imaging program or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Maintain MRI safety per ACR recommendations and hospital policy.
• Review patient history and orders and educate patients about procedures.
• Position patient and perform imaging; adjust parameters to ensure image quality.
• Take on-call shifts as required by the department.
• Prepare contrast media and medications within scope of practice when ordered.
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes as needed.

Summary

Performs magnetic resonance imaging in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Responsibilities

Maintains MRI Safety in accordance with safety recommendations outlined by the American College of Radiology and hospital policy.Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes acquisition parameters and resulting sequences and identifies issues with the quality of images. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and/or repeating images/sequences in conjunction with interpreting physicians and standard protocols.Takes on call shift responsibilities as required by the department.When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.Charges appropriately for all supplies used for procedure and utilizes appropriate exam codes.Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
