Sentara Advanced Imaging Center at Sentara BelleHarbour in Suffolk, VA is hiring an MRI Technologist for a Part Time Weekend Evening Shift. A $15K sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates. Hours are Saturday and Sunday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM.

The role includes performing general MRI exams, ensuring safety, maintaining supplies, and documenting procedures. Certification in CNMT/ARDMS/ARRT/ARMRIT is required, with ARRT MR advanced registry or ARMRIT to be obtained within 2 years of hire.

Qualifications

• Trade school graduate in Radiologic Technology is required.
• Completion of MRI school/certificate program is preferred.
• Certification: CNMT, ARDMS, ARRT, or ARMRIT is required.
• ARRT MR advanced registry or ARMRIT within 2 years of hire is required.
• 1 year experience as Rad Tech; 6 months MR experience preferred.
• Experience with GE and Siemens equipment is preferred.

Job Overview

Overview Performs general MRI examinations while maintaining safety integrity of MRI operational area for all persons including staff and customers. Maintains adequate supply inventory for performing examinations. Explains examination and procedure to patient and completes departmental documentation. Performs MR Tech I responsibilities with addition of one of the following: competency in Breast biopsy and/or Prostate biopsy, dual modality MR/CT Tech, or Hospital Based/Standing ED. Provide quality MRI Imaging to patients under the direction of a supervising physician with adherence to the required protocol standards.

Duties may include but are not limited to: Administration of MRI contrast per protocol, Evaluates and approves patient MRI safety screening form prior to patient entering scanner, Knowledge of MRI safety zones and other safety regulations. Reviewing patient records for accuracy and evaluating all implants and devices through vendor resources. Acting as liaison with physician and supportive care personnel. Maintaining patient records, reports, and files. Performs patient MRI exam per protocol, reviews imaging for accuracy and quality prior to sending for interpretation. examination and procedure to patient and completes departmental documentation. Education

• Trade School Graduate - Radiologic Technology (Required)
• Completion of MRI school/MRI certificate program (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

• CNMT, ARDMS, ARRT, or ARMRIT (Required)
• Must obtain ARRT MR advanced registry or ARMRIT within 2 years of hire

BLS Experience

• One (1) year experience in a Rad Tech position to include Radiologic Tech, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography or Ultrasound (Preferred)
• Six (6) months MR experience or completion of MR didactic program (Preferred)
• Experience with GE and Siemens Equipment (Preferred)

Compensation

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.24 - $61.82 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.

Location and Work Arrangements

The Advanced Imaging Center at BelleHarbour is conveniently located on the campus of Sentara BelleHarbour in Western Tidewater. The center is home to a 3T MRI, CT, PET CT, full digital mammography, ultrasound, bone densitometry, PVL (vascular imaging services), non-invasive cardiac diagnostic testing, and digital X-ray. Physicians and patients also benefit from the expertise of our sub-specialized radiologists who ensure accurate results from the high quality images. Our sub-specialties include women's imaging, musculoskeletal (MSK), body and neuroradiology.
