Job summary

Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) is offering full-time MRI Technologist opportunities for day and evening shifts with rotating weekends and holidays. A sign-on/retention incentive of up to $20,000 is available to external hires, with no routine on-call coverage.

The MRI team delivers advanced imaging across Breast, Cardiac, brain, and multi-parametric prostate studies, in a growing, patient-centered environment that values collaboration and innovation.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology with 1 year of experience required.
• ARRT Radiologic Technologist - Radiography (RT-R) at hire must be current.
• ARMRIT MRI certification within two years of hire.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification at hire.
• New Hampshire license as Radiologic Technologist in Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy.

Responsibilities

• Review patient history and requisition; administer contrast and IV access; respond to hypersensitivity; evaluate images and send to PACS.
• Scan and review data; perform multi-plane reconstructions; forward pertinent data to physician.
• Review studies for image quality and address any problems not part of the initial exam.
• Calibrate equipment; basic maintenance; manage supplies and logs; upkeep of wall units and ambu cord.
• Instruct medical staff and technologists in unit operations.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.

We are entering an exciting phase of growth and innovation as our imaging department expands into a new inpatient pavilion, designed to enhance patient access, improve workflow efficiency, and foster multidisciplinary collaboration. In addition, we are collaborating with the existing AIC/CSI (Advanced Imaging Center/Center for Surgical Innovation), which includes a dedicated research MRI and an intraoperative MRI to provide high-quality, innovative care.

For our full-time positions (30+ hours), we are offering a $20,000 sign-on/retention bonus. The bonus is available only to external hires, and certain conditions apply.

Responsibilities

• Reviews medical record for patient history and pertinent information. Reviews requisition with physician. Administers contrast material by means of existing IV line or by performing veno puncture and placing an IV line. Recognizes and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reaction. Evaluates images and send to PACS.
• Scans and reviews data on disk. Performs multi-plane reconstructions. Performs archive function. Selects & photographs pertinent data and forward to physician.
• Reviews studies for overall quality. Illuminates any problems noted which were not part of initial exam.
• Performs calibration check on equipment. Cleans and performs minor maintenance procedures. Logs problems and usage. Maintains wall units and ambu cord. Orders and maintains supplies.
• Instructs medical staff and technologists in unit's operations.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology with 1 year of experience required.

Required Licensure/Certifications

• Registered with the ARRT Radiologic Technologist - Radiography (RT - R) at hire
• Radiologic Technologist - Magnetic Resonance Imaging (RT - MR) or Certified MRI through ARMRIT within two years of hire.
• Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support at hire.
• Licensed by the Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy in the state of New Hampshire.
