Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital is seeking an MRI Tech to operate MRI equipment and produce diagnostic images as directed by physicians. The role performs routine procedures per established standards and maintains documentation and records for radiology.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology, ARRT certification upon hire, and up to 1 year of MRI experience. A strong emphasis on patient positioning, contrast administration, and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's or equivalent from a 2 year college or technical school, or hospital based Radiologic Technology Program
• Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Upon Hire
• Less than 1 year Thorough knowledge of radiologic and MRI terminology, practices and procedures, physiology and human anatomy

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients and positions them for MRI, and handles IV injections for contrast.
• Performs MRI procedures accurately and coordinates daily exam schedules.
• Assists with staff/student on-the-job training and orientation, and may assist in MRI classes.
• Maintains all records/reports required for the MRI area and related departments.
• Provides detailed reports to management as requested.
• Consults with radiologist, physicians and other patient-care personnel on exam details and protocols.
