Job description

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking a dedicated MRI Technologist to join our team in a PRN capacity.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Communicate effectively with patients to gather clinical history and obtain informed consent, explaining procedures to ease anxiety and ensure cooperation.
2. Assist physicians with examinations using standard protocols, isolation precautions, and sterile techniques.
3. Apply knowledge of IVs, heparin locks, and central lines relevant to MRI procedures.
4. Ensure patient safety through proper use of side rails, braking mechanisms, and monitoring; report and correct unsafe conditions.
5. Perform routine maintenance on imaging equipment to ensure quality images.

Additional Requirements:

• Work Schedule: PRN
• Education: Graduate from an accredited school of radiography or nuclear medicine with MRI training; MRI Registry eligible through ARRT.
• License: ARRT, ARMRIT, or CAMRT registration; CNMT certification accepted; MRI certification must be obtained within 12 months.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Experience: Preferred prior experience in a hospital or healthcare setting as a Radiologic or MRI Technologist, or recent student at Inova Health System.
