Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an MRI Technologist to ensure patient safety and produce diagnostic-quality MRI images. You will screen, prepare, and monitor patients, apply imaging protocols, and manage contrast administration when required.

The role requires completion of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program with ARRT MRI or ARMRIT certification within 12 months of hire or significant alternative experience, plus BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program.
• ARRT MRI or ARMRIT certification within 12 months of hire or 10+ years experience in lieu of certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient safety throughout the imaging process including screening, preparation, monitoring, and post-procedure care.
• Produce diagnostic-quality MRI images using approved protocols and professional standards.
• Apply professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges.
• Review images prior to exam completion and initiate corrective action when diagnostic adequacy is not met.
• Administer contrast in accordance with policy including screening and monitoring.
• Operate imaging equipment and maintain imaging room readiness.
• Coordinate exam flow and prioritize time-sensitive studies.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and Visage and ensure charging accuracy.
