Job summary

Spire Orthopedic Partners is seeking a dedicated MRI Technician to join our radiology team. You will prepare patients, position them for MRI, and ensure high-quality imaging across body regions.

The role involves screening for implants, selecting pulse sequences per protocol, and verifying scans before interpretation by physicians. The ideal candidate is a radiology program graduate with CT X-Ray/MRI licensure and ARRT registration, with at least two years of MRI experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of approved school of radiology required (two-year course).
• Valid Connecticut X-Ray/MRI Technician license and ARRT registered.
• Minimum two years’ MRI experience preferred.
• Orthopedic or neurological experience preferred.
• Ability to work well under pressure and stay composed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for MRI and position body parts for optimal imaging.
• Screen patients for implants or contra-indications before scanning.
• Select pulse sequences per physician protocol and record performed sequences.
• Evaluate image quality and completeness; adjust protocol as needed.
• Photograph images and archive to PACS; ensure timely availability.
• Perform daily QA on MRI equipment and monitor cryogen levels.
• Communicate findings and maintain patient comfort and safety.
• Assist with room hygiene and patient transfer as required.
