Job summary

University of Miami is seeking a MRI Technologist to operate MRI equipment for diagnostic and research imaging at the University of Miami Hospital & Clinics—Radiology Imaging UTower. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, certification in a relevant specialty, and at least 1 year of experience.

The position entails patient preparation, safety procedures, daily QA, and collaboration with staff. Evening, night, and weekend shifts may be required; on-call duties possible.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operates MRI equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic and research purposes.
• Sets up imaging area and selects appropriate coil based on exam triage form and patient data.
• Positions patient and adjusts immobilization devices for optimal views.
• Explains procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation.
• Follows safety procedures by reviewing notes and forms in patient’s file.
• Performs daily quality assurance measurements on MRI equipment.
• Reports equipment issues to senior staff.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information as required by law and policy.
