Position Overview

Performs routine and specialized Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures to produce quality images for diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of injury or disease. Works independently, exercising sound judgment and clinical skills to execute safe and precise procedures. Gains confidence and cooperation from patients and healthcare providers through competent assessment, monitoring, and communication. Adheres to all regulations and policies to ensure privacy and safety. May also perform specific procedures and assist in orienting staff.

Education

• Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program
• OR Graduate from an accredited Magnetic Resonance Program

Certification & Licensure

• CRT - Certified Radiologic Technologist
• OR ARMRIT - Certified MRI Technologist
• OR ARRT (MRI) - Radiography
• BLS - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

Department Certification & Licensure

• SGMF-CVENI Certified Venipuncture

Typical Experience

• 5 years recent relevant experience

Skills and Knowledge

• Knowledge of diagnostic MRI principles, procedures, views, and equipment, including response to emergencies.
• Ability to perform routine MRI exams with understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• Strong communication skills to explain sensitive information professionally.
• Time management and organizational skills to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with computer applications and healthcare information systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks amidst interruptions.
• Problem-solving skills using established solutions.
• Protection of patient PHI privacy.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with healthcare team members.
