Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is seeking an MRI technologist to operate MRI equipment, collaborate with radiologists, and ensure high-quality imaging. Candidates will work with neonates through geriatrics and participate in on-call duties as required.

Qualified applicants will have a radiology program background, strong communication, and familiarity with PACS workflow, safety protocols, and MRI procedures. This position emphasizes patient safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and Specialized Diploma Graduate of an accredited Radiology program.
• Ability to deal effectively and ethically with medical and confidential information relating to patients, families, physicians and nursing personnel.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in all written and oral communications, including email.
• Skills in technical data interpretation.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
• RT - Registered Technologist Radiology - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
• MR - Magnetic Resonance Imaging ARRT - State of Pennsylvania within 1 Year
• ARMRIT - Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist - American Registry of MRI Technologists within 1 Year

Responsibilities

• Assists in the diagnosis and treatment of neonate, infant, children, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
• Acquires or produces tomographic images of designated portions of the human body to obtain a diagnosis using magnetic resonance imaging equipment.
• Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body.
• Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality and patient data/history).
• Performs patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination.
• Performs contrast injections under the direct supervision of the radiologist or designated physician.
• Additional duties based upon the needs of the department.
