Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI studies meeting exam standards set by radiologists.

  • Interview patients and obtain consent; review preparation checklist.
  • Code exams accurately for billing and manage related paperwork.

Job Description:

The MRI Technologist II Float is a Full Time, Regular position working various locations and hours based on department need.

Summary: To obtain the safest and highest quality MRI exams under the direct or indirect supervision of a radiologist per established Inland Imaging Associates, LLC guidelines and protocols. Performs procedures for the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Department.

  • Performs MRI studies that meet or exceed the standards set by the interpreting radiologist(s)
  • Follows MRI safety guidelines at all times and ensures all staff and patients in MRI department are following safety guidelines
  • Follows established protocols for individual MRI examinations
  • Prepares equipment and room for exams:
    • Ensures proper coil is available in exam room for appropriate study
    • Sterile trays and room prep for invasive procedures
    • Stocks room with supplies and linens
  • Interviews and assesses patient for MRI exam:
    • Obtains procedure consent
    • Reviews patient preparation checklist prior to procedure
  • Performs parenteral procedures i.e. contrast injections, IV starts/removal
  • Physically assist patients on or off the MRI table
  • Physically lifts MRI coils onto table and/or onto patient for appropriate exam as needed
  • Communicates with patient during exam to ensure little to no movement and patient comfort level
  • Completes all exam paperwork:
    • Builds patient exam work list
    • Changes exam codes in Medicalis system as appropriate
    • Appropriately codes exam for billing
    • Adds charges for medications and contrast as appropriate
    • Adds presentation state into Intellispace for radiologist to read
  • Communicates effectively with Team Leader and Director regarding problems or issues with equipment, protocols or patients.
  • Assists in the transportation of patients as needed
  • Rotates to other shifts and locations, including independent Inland Imaging outpatient sites and contracted Providence inpatient sites as needed
  • Must be available to work at any location or any shift to meet the needs of the company including taking call
  • This position may be required to work in a hospital, urgent care or clinical setting.
  • Provides coverage for staff vacations, illness, etc. rotating shifts, days and locations, with the exception of our SHMC location.
  • Must have current working knowledge of all systems and locations that they are responsible for covering.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Holy Family Site Specific Skillset

  • Level III trauma center
  • Works in a fast-paced environment with Emergency Room, Inpatient and Outpatients
  • Works with stroke patients, with limited pediatrics and traumas
  • Provides versatile patient care in a dynamic setting, managing both routine outpatient services and acute care for emergency room and inpatient cases, ensuring seamless transitions and comprehensive treatment across various levels of care.
  • Works at least 60% of the time at Holy Family Imaging Center.
  • Procedures: limited to a rotation of 4 technologists/ weekend technologists may need to do limited emergent procedures.
    • Sets up sterile tray for all procedures

  • Follows all Health and Safety policies and guidelines of Inland Imaging or its partners depending on work location.

  • Performs other duties as required by displaying team spirit and self-growth, accepting and performing other projects and responsibilities, and requesting other projects and responsibilities.

  • This position may be required to work in a hospital, urgent care or clinical setting.

  • Attendance is required for this position.

  • Rotates to other shifts and locations as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: AA Degree – required
    • Accredited Radiologic Technologist Program or equivalent on the job experience required necessary to pass the ARRT (R)
  • Experience:
    • One year as a practicing MRI Technologist required
    • Anatomy and medical terminology preferred
    • Medical office experience preferred
    • Understanding of MRI procedures to be read by radiologist preferred.
  • Certifications: Must maintain current ARRT (R), (MR)
    • Current CPR/BLS required
  • Licensure: Must maintain current Washington State Certified Radiologic Technologist License
  • Computer Skills: Experience with the following computer applications is highly desired: Microsoft Office Suite; Outlook; Workday; Medicalis; Intellispace; EPIC; Qgenda; Webex, Internet/Intranet
  • Background Check:
    • Must be able to pass a background check required by RCW 43.43.830-840 to work with children under the age of 16, developmentally disabled persons or vulnerable adults
    • In order to comply with provisions set forth in Sections 1128 and 1156 of the Social Security Act, all new employees of Inland Imaging Clinical Associates, LLC will be checked against the LIST OF EXCLUDED INDIVIDUALS provided by the Department of Health & Human Services, Office of the Inspector General (OIG). Employees must not be included on this list.
  • Drug Test: Eligible employees must be able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.
