Summary

Patient Access Registrar/Scheduler is a Full-Time, Regular position working Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm at our Kennewick Imaging Center. Patient Access Registrar/Diagnostic Imaging Schedulers are responsible for assisting patients and referring physicians and their staff in scheduling exams at an Inland Imaging Associates, LLC facility. The Department is generally the first contact with Inland Imaging Associates, LLC so the Registrar must present a friendly, courteous and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities
  • Greets and welcomes patients and visitors, presenting a friendly, courteous professional image.
  • Checks patients in, verifies ordered exams, checks for previous films in RIS, collects payments, answers phones, and ensures smooth patient flow.
  • Provides high quality customer service by listening to patients’ and referring providers’ requests for exams, times and locations.
  • Asks the appropriate questions to get necessary information to schedule exams.
  • Relays exam‑specific preparatory information, completes phone calls with a professional closing.
  • Schedules requested exams to maximize equipment utilization by time, location, and specialty, reviewing open slots.
  • Schedules and communicates prep for all Ultrasound, CT and MRI exams.
  • Interacts frequently with Radiologist and Technologist.
  • Communicates changes in the patient schedule, stats, add‑ons to appropriate parties.
  • Reviews next‑day assigned schedule, accounts for changes in physician’s schedule, calls patients to reschedule as needed.
  • Opens faxes from the scheduling fax server, renames with standard nomenclature.
  • Coordinates patient care between technologists and clerical staff to facilitate smooth workflow.
  • Acts as liaison between staff, management and physicians.
  • Greets and welcomes all patients and visitors, ensures all patients are registered and “arrived.”
  • Provides assistance as needed to patients requiring help.
  • Maintains a clean work area to represent the professional image of Inland Imaging.
  • Prepares paperwork for patient exams in advance (except add‑ons) and gives the paperwork to appropriate modality.
  • Answers phone and assists callers.
  • Generates radiology reports as requested by referring provider offices.
  • Burns patient exams and reports onto CDs, provides CDs to patients and referring offices.
  • Digitizes previous hard‑copy radiographic films to PACS, locates and obtains previous related imaging for upcoming appointments and uploads to PACS.
  • Processes all legal requests for Diagnostic Imaging, Seattle locations.
  • Schedules prostate fusion endo‑rectal coil MRIs and Breast MRI’s.
  • Fills in and helps with patient care coordinator duties, assists technologists with injection procedures, requests prior‑op reports to verify safe procedures.
  • Assists patients and escorts them to the changing and exam rooms, processes patient payments, schedules walk‑in patient exams.
  • Rotates to other shifts and locations as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Maintain strict confidentiality within Inland Imaging and its customers. Follow all Health and Safety policies and guidelines of Inland Imaging or its partners at each work location. Demonstrate a pleasant manner, good personal hygiene, free of alcohol and drug abuse. Access multiple worksites promptly. Demonstrate self‑directed learning and participation in continuing education. Consider individual needs in communication with patients of all ages, adhere to departmental standards, use teamwork and communication skills, display team spirit, self‑growth, and willingness to take on projects and responsibilities. Attendance is required for this position. Rotates to other shifts and locations as needed.

Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Experience: Two years of previous clerical, scheduling or medical office experience required; medical office experience preferred; anatomy and medical terminology preferred; understanding of all procedures to be read by radiologist preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Experience with Outlook, Workday, Qgenda, EPIC, Medicalis, Intellispace PACS, Internet/Intranet highly desired.
Background Check
  • Must be able to pass a background check required by RCW 43.43.830‑840 to work with children under 16, developmentally disabled persons or vulnerable adults.
  • Drug test: Eligible employees must pass a post‑offer, pre‑employment drug test.
  • All new employees of Inland Imaging Clinical Associates, LLC will be checked against the LIST OF EXCLUDED INDIVIDUALS set forth in Sections 1128 and 1156 of the Social Security Act; employees must not be included on this list.
