Job summary

Central Peninsula Hospital Imaging Department seeks a Part-Time MRI Technologist to perform diagnostic MRI examinations with attention to protocol and quality. The role emphasizes clinical problem solving, appropriate order assessment, and patient-focused service.

The position supports a day shift, three days per week, with ten-hour shifts, and requires ARRT registration and CPR/BLS completion within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology.
  • Two years of Imaging - MRI experience.
  • Registered Technologist through ARRT.
  • MRI Registry through ARRT.
  • BLS/CPR (American Heart Association) within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic MRI examinations as ordered by the provider and directed by the radiologist.
  • Follow established scanning protocols while applying clinical expertise to optimize image quality.
  • Determine appropriateness of orders relative to patient signs and symptoms.
  • Modify scan sequences as needed to improve image quality and exam accuracy.
  • Determine positioning, sequences and scan parameters for each study.
  • Review images for clarity, exam completeness and accuracy for radiologist visualization.
  • Maintain a positive customer service attitude during all interactions.

Part Time , Day , 3 Days a Week / 10 Hour Shifts

POSITION SUMMARY

The MRI Technologist performs diagnostic examinations on patients as ordered by the provider and directed by the radiologist in a caring, professional and efficient manner. To obtain examinations of the highest quality, this staff member follows established scanning protocols but also routinely utilizes a high level of clinical expertise and problem solving in their modality. Able to determine appropriateness of providers order in relationship to patients' clinical signs and symptoms. Has the clinical expertise to modify scan sequences as needed to optimize image quality. Determines appropriate positioning, sequences and scan parameters for each study and reviews images for clarity, exam completeness and accuracy to assure the radiologist is able to clearly visualize the area of concern. The MRI Technologist maintains a positive customer service attitude when performing all duties. Conducts self in a professional and courteous manner during all customer interactions. Accepts personal responsibility for professional practice by adhering to standards of the profession. Carries out all responsibilities in line with the organization’s mission, vision and values.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology
  • Two years of Imaging - MRI experience
  • Registered Technologist throughARRT
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging Registry through ARRT
  • BLSP(CPR) from the American Heart Association within 30 days of employment
