Job summary

Associates in Medical Imaging, LLC seeks a qualified MRI Technologist to perform high-quality magnetic resonance imaging exams with safe, patient-centered care. You will support efficient MRI department operation by applying sound clinical judgment and following established imaging protocols.

You will collaborate with radiologists, referring providers, and staff to maintain safety, accuracy, and timely care, while complying with privacy and professional standards.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher from an accredited radiologic technology, magnetic resonance imaging, or related allied health program.
  • Current certification and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); MRI credential preferred or required in accordance with organizational policy.
  • Minimum of three years of MRI experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, if required by site policy.

Responsibilities

  • Verify patient information, orders, consents, and MRI safety screening.
  • Prepare, position, monitor, and educate patients throughout examinations.
  • Operate MRI equipment and follow approved protocols to produce diagnostic-quality images.
  • Review and transmit images, maintain accurate records, and complete quality-control checks.
  • Follow all safety, privacy, infection-prevention, and professional standards; perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The MRI Technologist performs high-quality magnetic resonance imaging examinations while delivering safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care. This role supports the efficient operation of the MRI department by applying sound clinical judgment, following established imaging protocols, maintaining a safe MRI environment, and collaborating with radiologists, referring providers, and other members of the healthcare team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Verify patient information, orders, consents, and MRI safety screening.
  • Prepare, position, monitor, and educate patients throughout examinations.
  • Operate MRI equipment and follow approved protocols to produce diagnostic-quality images.
  • Review and transmit images, maintain accurate records, and complete quality-control checks.
  • Follow all safety, privacy, infection-prevention, and professional standards; perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree or higher from an accredited radiologic technology, magnetic resonance imaging, or related allied health program.
  • Current certification and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); MRI credential preferred or required in accordance with organizational policy.
  • Minimum of three years of MRI experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, if required by site policy.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, accreditation, and organizational requirements.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
  • Ability to move independently throughout the imaging environment and work in confined or limited spaces.
  • Ability to assist with the safe transfer and transport of patients using wheelchairs, stretchers, and other approved equipment.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and remain in position for extended periods as required by patient care and equipment operation.
  • Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to position patients, evaluate images, operate equipment, and monitor patients throughout procedures.
  • Ability to work safely in a controlled MRI environment with exposure to strong magnetic fields, radiofrequency energy, acoustic noise, and approved cleaning products.
Working Relationships
  • Communicates respectfully and effectively with patients, families, and caregivers, including individuals experiencing pain, anxiety, limited mobility, or other physical stress.
  • Collaborates with radiologists, referring providers, registration staff, nursing personnel, technologists, and other coworkers to coordinate safe and timely care.
  • Protects confidential information and comply with applicable privacy and security requirements.
  • Maintains a professional, dependable, and service-oriented approach in all interactions.
Equipment and Systems
  • Various MRI scanners, coils, patient-monitoring devices, transfer equipment, and related accessories.
  • Radiology information systems, electronic health records, PACS, and standard office computer applications.
