Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital is seeking an MRI Technologist I, PRN, to join the MRI-Medina Hospital team. The role requires MR credentials (ARRT/ARMRIT) and BLS; responsibilities include performing MRI exams, educating patients, and ensuring safety and comfort throughout the process.

As a PRN caregiver, you will review patient data, maintain high uptime, assist with billing via RIS, and mentor new staff while participating in in-service programs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or equivalent
• Registered Technologist with ARRT/ARMRIT in appropriate MRI credentials
• MR MRI certification (ARRT) within 1 year of hire
• BLS certification per AHA/Red Cross
• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologies

Responsibilities

• Acquire and review patient data to determine MRI contraindications.
• Perform MRI procedures per protocol and conduct daily QA.
• Educate patients about MRI procedures, equipment, and exams.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during/after exams.
• Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate with service calls as needed.
• Maintain high equipment up-time for patient access.
• Process billing via RIS.
• Instruct and mentor new hires and radiology students.
• Attend in-service programs and professional sessions.

A PRN (as needed) caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday: 6:30am - 8:30pm, Saturday-Sunday: 1:00am - 7:30pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Acquire and review patient questionnaire, chart and data/requisition to determine contraindication of having MRI examination.

• Perform MRI procedures required per protocol and perform daily QA.

• Educate patients regarding MRI procedures, equipment, and exams.

• Ensure patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam.

• Report any malfunctions and observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems or calls for service.

• Maintain available equipment up-time at the highest level for patient accessibility.

• Processes billing via RIS.

• Instruct and mentor new hires and Radiology students.

• Attend in-service programs and professional affiliation sessions.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or graduate of an accredited institution per the primary pathway of the ARRT

• Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of MRI Technologists (ARMRIT) or The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT), or R.T.(S)(ARRT), or R.T.(T)(ARRT), in good standing. Or must be a Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(N) (ARRT) in good standing or be a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (ARDMS and NMTCB are primary pathways)

• Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging: R.T.(MR)(ARRT) (required within one year of hire)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross certification

• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• One year experience as a General Radiologic Technologist or experience in other imaging modalities

Physical Requirements:

• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

• Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.

• Requires frequent pushing and pulling of equipment up to 75 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
