Job summary

The Lutheran Health Network MRI Technologist I provides routine MRI procedures, prioritizing patient safety and comfort while producing high-quality images for physician review. You will operate and maintain MRI equipment, manage supplies, and collaborate with radiology staff to ensure accurate results and compassionate patient care throughout the exam.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program.
• 0–2 years of clinical MRI experience or registration as MRI technologist.
• ARRT certification or eligible and obtained within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs MRI procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images.
• Reviews MRI patient questionnaires and histories to identify contraindications and ensure safety.
• Operates MRI and processing equipment following safety guidelines and protocols.
• Educates and prepares patients for MRI exams, addressing questions and ensuring comfort.
• Maintains MRI safety zones and verifies patient/staff readiness before scanning.
• Documents clinical history with exam findings for radiologist review.
• Maintains inventory of MRI supplies and equipment, ensuring sterility.
• Verifies physician orders and patient ID prior to procedures.
• Collaborates with radiologists and healthcare team to achieve optimal results.
• Monitors MRI equipment and reports issues promptly.
• Provides instructions and support to patients during and after exams.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
