Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program or MRI-accredited program.
• ARRT or ARMRIT registration; MRI registry preferred.
• 0–6 months related experience.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work.
• Safety procedures for patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Performs MRI examinations according to department policy and protocols.
• Prepares and positions patients for MRI procedures of various body parts.
• Sets up equipment (coils, monitoring devices) and positions patient accordingly.
• Performs quality control tests on department equipment and reports discrepancies.
• Collects and evaluates relevant examination information from scheduling, patient, and referring physician.
• Maintains departmental records and patient information per policy.
• Explains procedures clearly to patients and alleviates anxiety.
• Sends images to PACS, verifies exam completeness, and documents in logs.
