Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking an MRI Technologist I to operate MRI equipment, produce high-quality images, and support radiologists in interpretation. The role includes EMR/PACS navigation, patient positioning, and delivering patient-centered care following imaging protocols.

The position requires education in Radiologic Technology or MRI, BLS, ARRT MR certification (or ARMRIT) within one year of hire, plus 2 years radiography and 1 year MRI experience. OSF is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate from accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program.
• BLS from American Heart Association and MRI ARRT/ARMRIT certification or must obtain within one year.
• 2 years radiography experience and 1 year MRI experience.
• ARRT(R) registered or eligible and in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients while operating MRI equipment to produce high-quality images for radiologist interpretation.
• Navigate EMR/PACS and provide patient care, including positioning and procedure information.
• Execute proper imaging protocol/technique for all examinations and ensure regulatory compliance for safe care.

Expected pay for this position is $36.39 - $47.63/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

This is an Hourly position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The MRI Technologist I cares for patients while operating equipment to produce high quality images for radiologist interpretation. In addition, the technologist is responsible for EMR/PACS navigation, general patient care, positioning patients, providing procedure information and executing proper imaging protocol/technique for all examinations. Complies with all regulatory requirements in providing safe and appropriate care.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• High School Diploma/ GED
• Graduate from accredited school of Radiologic Technology or MRI accredited program.

Licensure/ Certification:

• BLS American Heart Association
• ARRT (MR) Advanced certification in MRI or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT), or must obtain within one year of hire if not currently registered.

Other Skills/ Knowledge:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

• 2 years radiography experience.
• 1 year MRI experience.

Licensure/ Certification:

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(R)) registered.
