Job summary

Spire Orthopedic Partners is seeking an MRI Technician to prepare patients, position coils, and operate MRI equipment in a fast-paced clinical environment in Connecticut. The role requires screening for contraindications, selecting pulse sequences, and ensuring image quality for radiologist review.

Responsibilities include PACS workflow, daily QA, contrast administration support, and maintaining sterile, safe patient care with strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Graduate of approved school of radiology required (two-year course).
• Valid Connecticut X-Ray/MRI Technician license and ARRT registered.
• Minimum two years’ experience as an MRI Technician preferred.
• Orthopedic and/or neurological experience preferred.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and positions patients for MRI of various body parts, including setting up coils and monitoring devices.
• Screens patients for ferromagnetic objects and contraindicated implants.
• Selects pulse sequences per physician protocol and records sequences.
• Evaluates scan results and manipulates images for physician review.
• Photographs and processes images; sends images to PACS and verifies exam completeness.
• Performs daily Quality Assurance tests on equipment and monitors cryogen levels.
• Informs leadership of system problems and documents accurately.
• Assists patients with IV contrast and monitors for reactions.
• Maintains room hygiene and universal precautions.
• Assists with moving patients as needed and performs other duties as assigned.
