Job summary

BJC Outpatient Imaging in Chesterfield, MO is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist for a full-time role. You will perform MRI procedures, review orders, position patients, and ensure high-quality diagnostic images while following safety standards.

The ideal candidate has ARRT or ARMIT MR certification, an Associate degree in Radiology, and 5+ years of experience. Excellent patient care, documentation, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Radiology or graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program.
• ARRT or ARMIT MR certification required; MR advanced registry within first 12 months for certain centers.
• Minimum 5+ years experience as an MRI Technologist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI procedures using established protocols to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
• Review patient history and orders; ensure accurate documentation.
• Position and monitor patients during procedures.
• Administer contrast or medications as appropriate and manage IV access.
• Ensure MR safety and follow emergency and quench procedures.
• Provide patient education and support throughout the imaging process.

BJC Outpatient Imaging is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist for a Full-Time position at our outpatient imaging center in Chesterfield, MO.

Position Status: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 11:30 AM-8:00 PM
Location: 1785 Clarkson Road, Chesterfield, MO 63017

JOB SUMMARY

The MRI Technologist performs routine and complex MRI procedures while providing safe, high-quality patient care and diagnostic imaging. This position works closely with the imaging center team to ensure an excellent patient experience and adherence to established clinical and safety standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Perform MRI procedures using established protocols to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
• Review patient history and physician orders and ensure appropriate documentation.
• Prepare, position, and monitor patients throughout procedures.
• Perform venipuncture, maintain IV access, and administer contrast or medications as appropriate.
• Select appropriate pulse sequences and imaging parameters.
• Evaluate images for technical quality and accuracy.
• Perform point-of-care creatinine testing as required.
• Follow all MRI safety, emergency, and quench procedures.
• Provide patient education and support throughout the imaging process.
• Maintain equipment, exam rooms, supplies, and imaging records.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
• Assist with training students and staff as needed.
• Support other areas of the imaging center when appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE:

• Preferred 5+ years experience as a MRI Technologist

EDUCATION:

• Must have a minimum Associates Degree in Radiology or be a graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography, or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMIT) and maintain current valid registration from ARRT or ARMIT. MR advanced registration through ARRT or ARMIT is required upon hire for IDTF centers. Non-IDTF centers require MR advanced registry within the first 12 months of employment. Additionally, must meet the state licensure requirement for the state in which they practice.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of routine to complex MRI procedures and protocols.
• Skill in operation of MRI equipment as well as applicable ancillary equipment.
• Ability to work independently and multitask.
• Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
• Demonstrates understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
• Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and retrieving of data.
