Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform MRI procedures in line with approved techniques and radiologist protocols. You will operate MRI equipment safely, ensuring patient comfort and adherence to safety guidelines.

Candidates should have Graduate of Radiologic Technology and ARRT/ARMRIT/CAMRT certification or eligibility, with a preference for MR scanning experience and strong patient communication skills. Sign-on bonus of $5,000 for new hires is offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.

• Six months MR scanning experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Work Schedule

Week 1: Wed, Thurs, Fri - 9:00am to 9:00pm.

Week 2: Thurs, Fri - 9:00am to 9:00pm. Sat - 7:00am to 7:00pm.

Weekend On Call Rotation.

Holiday Rotation.

Summary

Performs MRI procedures in accordance with approved techniques and standards.

Operates MRI equipment in a safe and responsible manner, following appropriate safety guidelines.

Position Responsibilities

• Consistently performs high quality MRI studies according to protocols established by the Radiologists. Films all MRI exams utilizing proper window and level. Follows protocol for room set-up, obtains patient assessment form and injection procedures. Demonstrates competence to perform venipuncture and follows established protocols for administering contrast medium.
• Verify order and patient identification before performing MRI exam. Screen all patients for medical appropriateness of MRI procedure as well as for potential projectiles before entrance into the exam room. Patient assessment form must be completed and validated before patient enters MRI room.
• Provide superior customer service to patients and personnel. Must be able to effectively communicate with all customers; display high degree of tact and diplomacy and maintain supportive relationships.
• Follows appropriate safety guidelines during operation of MRI equipment. Adheres to Virtua policies and procedures.

Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required

Previous MRI experience preferred.

Required Education

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology

Training/Certifications/Licensure

Certification as either

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered plus six (6) months supervised experience in MR scanning, OR
• Associate’s/bachelor’s degree in allied health field plus other imaging modality certification plus six (6) months supervised MR scanning, OR
• ARMRIT or CAMRT as a Registered MR Technologist – for employees in the role prior to 8/30/26

MRI board certification preferred

CPR certification required

Salary

$40.62 - $63.16 Hourly
