Job summary

Memorial Hermann in The Woodlands seeks an MRI Technologist to perform MRI procedures, prepare patients, and ensure high-quality imaging. The role involves patient positioning, contrast administration when needed, data entry, and maintaining equipment QA.

Qualified candidates will have graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program, BLS certification, and ARRT-MR or ARMRIT credentials, with 2+ years MRI experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Certification: BLS required.
  • ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification required.
  • Two (2) years MRI experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs MRI procedures on patients: prepares patients for MRI exam, explains procedure, administers contrast when necessary, positions patients for the MRI scanner, selects imaging techniques, ensures technical quality.
  • Enters and monitors patient data.
  • Performs quality assurance on MRI equipment and assists with accreditation processes.
  • Identifies and reports accidents, complaints or equipment malfunctions to management.
  • Takes emergency call within the department.
  • Ensures safe care, adheres to policies and budgetary specifications.
  • Supports professional growth, mentoring, and cross-training within the team.
  • Delivers compassionate, personalized experiences to patients and colleagues.

The Woodlands Outpatient Imaging Department
  • Sunday / Tuesday / Wednesday (6:30a-8:00p)
  • 2+ years of MRI experience strongly preferred
  • No holidays, no call
  • GE & Philips MRI machines
  • Looking for someone open to reviewing/scrub schedule, help start IV, look at orders to prevent canceling patients; open minded to role and doing more than just scanning

This position performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures to create three dimensional images of tissue, organs and other body parts that are used by radiologists to detect abnormalities, make diagnoses and treat patients.

Job Description
Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.

License/Certification:

  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support, required.
  • One (1)of the following required:
  • Registered MRI Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-MR); or
  • Registered MRI Technologist by the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
  • Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others in order to perform job functions.
Principal Accountabilities
  • Performs MRI procedures on patients: prepares patients for MRI exam, explains procedure, administers contrast when necessary, positions patients for the MRI scanner, selects appropriate imaging techniques, and ensures technical quality of the scan.
  • Enters and monitors patient data.
  • Performs quality assurance on magnetic resonance equipment and matrix camera. May assist with initial and renewal application for ACR and other accreditation.
  • Identifies and reports any accidents, complaints or equipment malfunction to department management.
  • Takes emergency call within the department.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
