Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System in The Woodlands is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform MRI exams, prepare patients, and ensure high-quality imaging. You will collaborate with a team of top professionals and contribute to patient safety and care.

Requirements include ARRT MR or ARMRIT certification and BLS, graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program, and ability to work Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday 6:30a–8:00p with no holidays or on-call requirements.

Qualifications

  • ARRT MR or ARMRIT MR registration is required.
  • Basic or Advanced Life Support certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs MRI procedures and ensures image quality.
  • Prepares and positions patients for scanning and communicates procedures.
  • Reviews orders and monitors patient data during exams.
  • Maintains MRI equipment and adheres to safety protocols.
  • Supports department goals and acts as a resource to staff.

The Woodlands Outpatient Imaging Department
  • Sunday / Tuesday / Wednesday (6:30a-8:00p)
  • 2+ years of MRI experience strongly preferred
  • No holidays, no call
  • GE & Philips MRI machines
  • Looking for someone open to reviewing/scrub schedule, help start IV, look at orders to prevent canceling patients; open minded to role and doing more than just scanning
Job Description
Minimum Qualifications
Education:

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.

License/Certification:
  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support, required.
  • One (1)of the following required:
  • Registered MRI Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-MR); or
  • Registered MRI Technologist by the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
  • Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others in order to perform job functions.
Principal Accountabilities
  • Performs MRI procedures on patients: prepares patients for MRI exam, explains procedure, administers contrast when necessary, positions patients for the MRI scanner, selects appropriate imaging techniques, and ensures technical quality of the scan.
  • Enters and monitors patient data.
  • Performs quality assurance on magnetic resonance equipment and matrix camera. May assist with initial and renewal application for ACR and other accreditation.
  • Identifies and reports any accidents, complaints or equipment malfunction to department management.
  • Takes emergency call within the department.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
