Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform MRI procedures using scanners and contrast agents in a patient-centered setting. You will assess allergy risks, prepare patients, and ensure high-quality imaging aligned with clinical needs.

The role requires ARRT MRI certification, BLS, and completion of a 6-month orientation. Eligible candidates may be hired with at least one year of experience in MRI. EEO Employer/Protected Veteran status.

Qualifications

• Certification by ARRT or NMTCB and ARRT-MRI; BLS required.
• Successful completion of a 6-month orientation.
• Experience with MRI procedures and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI procedures and operate scanners per protocols.
• Safely administer contrast and assess allergy risks.
• Evaluate labs and ensure patient safety before exams.
• Explain procedures to patients using age-appropriate language.
• Post-process images and ensure timely transfer for review.
• Document deviations and notify provider when needed.
• Cover open shifts as competency allows.
