Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking an MRI technologist to perform MRI procedures on low and high field magnets under radiologist supervision. The role requires independent judgment to obtain diagnostic image data and to manage patient care from newborn to elderly across a variety of exams.

Responsibilities include image quality, safety practices, patient records, and appropriate use of contrast media, with duties spanning RIS documentation and occasional non-technical tasks.

Qualifications

• Licensure: Current ARRT.
• Educational: High School Diploma or GED; graduate of accredited ARRT program.

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI equipment according to specifications for low, high and open magnets.
• Produce quality images within department standards, including 3D reformats and MRA.
• Assess processing issues and take corrective action.
• Maintain MRI safety practices per state and federal guidelines.
• Maintain patient records per department standards including RIS documentation.
• Knowledge of contrast media use and documentation.
• Assess patients prior to exams with proper documentation and prep.
• Provide patient education relevant to the exam and document it in the patient record.
• Perform non-technical duties such as stocking, transport, and training of staff.
