Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls is hiring a Radiologic Technologist specialized in MRI to operate MRI equipment and acquire diagnostic images as directed by physicians.

You will prepare patients, position them, perform MRI procedures, coordinate schedules, assist training, maintain records, and communicate with radiologists. Prior ARRT Radiography certification is required upon hire with MRI experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent from a 2-year college or hospital Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT Radiography certification required upon hire.
• Knowledge of radiologic/MRI terminology and anatomy.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients and adjusts MRI equipment; positions and instructs patients, and is competent with IV injections for contrast.
• Performs MRI procedures accurately and schedules exams efficiently.
• Assists with staff/student training and MRI classes.
• Maintains records for Radiology, QA, Joint Commission, OSHA, or legal needs.
• Keeps MRI area records and reports (patient, volume, equipment).
• Provides detailed reports to management.
• Consults with radiologists and clinicians on exam details and protocols.
• Monitors contrast injections and patient conditions during exams.
