Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an MRI Technologist to ensure high-quality imaging and patient safety throughout the MRI workflow. The role involves screening, contrast administration, exam setup, and timely documentation in EPIC and Visage.

Minimum credentials include graduation from an accredited Radiology Technologist Program and ARRT MRI certification (or ARMRIT) with BLS. The position emphasizes safety, accuracy, and adherence to policies within our imaging department.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program.
• ARRT MRI Certification or ARMRIT within 12 months of hire or 10+ years relevant experience in lieu.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient safety throughout MRI process and post-procedure care.
• Produce diagnostic-quality MRI images using approved protocols.
• Apply professional judgment to optimize image quality.
• Review images and initiate corrective action if adequacy is not met.
• Administer contrast per policy with screening and monitoring.
• Operate MRI equipment and maintain room readiness.
• Coordinate exam flow and prioritize time-sensitive studies.
• Document exam setup, image routing, results, and charges in EPIC/Visage.
