Qualifications

• ARRT registry in radiologic technology required (two-year program).
• ARRT registry in MRI required within two years of hire.
• State Licensure on Radiation Protection required.
• Completion of cross sectional anatomy training.
• CPR certification required.
• PEEPS certification required for proper positioning and transfer.

Responsibilities

• Operates MRI units and radiology computer systems according to protocol.
• Performs MRI procedures and quality control as defined by protocols.
• Conducts MRI safety screenings for patients and implants before scanning.
• Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (ACR, state).
• Completes all imaging and non-imaging procedures within scheduled times.
• Enters patient study information into care systems accurately.
• Coordinates workflow and patient care activities as needed.
• Obtains clinical history and appropriate consent for examinations.
• Verifies insurance pre-authorization before scanning.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and uses two identifiers.
• Demonstrates IV access and monitors patient status for adverse reactions.
• Operates contrast media injectors and performs related tasks.
• Performs i-STAT testing and calculates GFR per policy.
