Job summary

Shields Health in Lowell, MA is seeking an MRI Technologist to work per diem hours at our Lowell location. The role includes a $2,500 sign-on bonus for 10–29 hours/week and a $5,000 sign-on bonus for 30–40 hours/week, with access to cutting-edge imaging technology.

Qualifications

• MRI scanning experience required.
• ARRT and CPR certifications required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow policies, procedures and protocols to ensure patient safety.
• Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
• Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
• Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
• Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
• Perform scan in accordance to center’s protocol.
• Administer intravenous contrast.
• Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.
• Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
• Provide and issue films/CD when appropriate.
• Forward data and/or films/CD to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
• Assist clerical staff as needed.
• Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.
• Adhere to all necessary training/licenses based on the credentialing policy.
• Contrast administration.

The Skills: This opportunity requires prior MRI scanning experience. Necessary requirements include MRI/ARRT/CPR certifications, and fantastic interpersonal skills. In addition the applicant will need to:

• Sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time
• Assist patients with mobility difficulties
• Some inpatient locations may require employee’s to participate in a call schedule/rotation
• To push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds
