Shields Health Care Group is seeking a part-time Technologist Aide to join our Massachusetts imaging team. The role supports technologists, maintains patient comfort, and helps prepare the exam environment for early morning appointments.

Responsibilities include setting up rooms, assisting with patient interviews and safety checks, and ensuring clean linens and proper equipment. Candidates should have a High School Diploma, CPR certification, and strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• CPR certification is required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
• Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties.
• Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.

Responsibilities

• Follow policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety.
• Assist Technologist in setting up the room.
• Set up proper coil for exam.
• Ensure there is clean linen.
• Make available items to assist patient setup.
• Assist in the patient interview process.
• Safety checklist completion.
• Explain procedure to patient and reassure anxious patients.
• Assist technologist during exam and position patient.
• Assist patient on/off table and to changing area.
• Check that paperwork is complete and prior exams are accessible.

The Technologist Aide will provide a professional, caring atmosphere to all customer groups, assist technical staff while maintaining a fast-paced medical environment. This is a part-time position (20 hours weekly), Monday-Friday 6:30am-10:30am.

Job Description: What you will do

• Follow all proper policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
• Assist Technologist in setting up the room.
• Set up proper coil for exam.
• Ensure there is clean linen.
• Make available any items, which may assist the patients setup.
• Assist in the patient interview process.
• Safety check list.
• Symptoms and history.
• Determine if prior exams.
• Make sure patient is properly dressed for exam.
• Explain procedure to patient.
• Reassure the patient if anxious.
• Assist technologist in setting the patient for exam.
• Aid the patient getting on table.
• Ensure all safety devices are in place.
• Help makes the patient comfortable.
• Assist technologist upon completion of exam.
• Remove the patient from bore.
• Remove all safety equipment.
• Aid the patient off the table and assist to changing area.
• Assist in checking that all paperwork is complete.
• Assist getting all prior paper work.
• Assist getting all prior pertinent exams.
• Assist in checking that prior exams are on the appropriate workstation.
• Assist with Tech Data Entry.
• Assist with the cleaning and stocking of exam rooms.

Additional Job Description

The pay range for this position is $17/hr-$29/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors. It is not intended that this Job Description include all details of the work functions of this position. The incumbent will perform work of a lower or equivalent classification as required or directed, and work of higher classification for training and development purposes or as situationally warranted.
