Job summary

Shields Health Care Group in Massachusetts is seeking an MRI Technologist to support our diagnostic imaging team. The role requires professionalism, patient-centered care, and the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.

The position is 36 hours weekly (Sun-Tues, 8:00 am–8:30 pm) with competitive pay and benefits. Required MRI-related credentials include MRI/ARRT/CPR, with ARMRIT accepted at some locations. Prior MRI scanning experience is essential.

Qualifications

• MRI scanning experience required.
• MRI/ARRT/CPR certifications required.
• ARMRIT certification accepted at some locations.
• Sitting/standing for extended periods; assist patients with mobility.

Responsibilities

• Follow all proper policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
• Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
• Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
• Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
• Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
• Perform scan in accordance to center’s protocol.
• Administer intravenous contrast.
• Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.
• Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
• Provide and issue films/CD when appropriate.
• Forward data and/or films/CD to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
• Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
• Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.
• Adhere to all necessary training/licenses based on the credentialing policy.
• Contrast administration

What you will do

What you need:

• This opportunity requires prior MRI scanning experience.
• Necessary requirements include MRI/ARRT/CPR certifications, and fantastic interpersonal skills.
• ARMRIT certification accepted at some locations.
• Sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time.
• Assist patients with mobility difficulties.
• Some inpatient locations may require employee’s to participate in a call schedule/rotation.
• To push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.

Pay range for this position is $40-$60/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors. It is not intended that this Job Description include all details of the work functions of this position. The incumbent will perform work of a lower or equivalent classification as required or directed, and work of higher classification for training and development purposes or as situationally warranted.
