Job summary

Shields Health at UMass Memorial Health – Milford Regional Medical Center, LLC is seeking a Technologist Aide to support MRI operations and patient care in a fast-paced setting. You will assist technologists, prepare rooms, and help patients throughout the scanning process at the CC and Milford Hospital MRI sites.

The role emphasizes safety, patient comfort, and efficient workflow. Required are a High School Diploma, CPR certification, and excellent interpersonal skills.

• Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties.
• Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.

Responsibilities

• Follow all proper policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
• Assist Technologist in setting up the room.
• Set up proper coil for exam and ensure clean linen.
• Make available any items which may assist the patient setup.
• Assist in the patient interview process.
• Safety check list.
• Symptoms and history collection.
• Determine if prior exams exist.
• Prepare patient for exam and provide instructions.
• Explain procedure to patient and reassure if anxious.
• Assist in positioning patient for exam and aid onto/off the table.
• Ensure all safety devices are in place and rooms stocked.
• Assist with data entry and handling prior paperwork.
• Check that prior exams are on the appropriate workstation.

Job Summary: The Technologist Aide will provide a professional, caring atmosphere to all customer groups, assist technical staff while maintaining a fast-paced medical environment. Week1: Thursday 7am-8pm at the CC; Friday 7am-8pm Milford Cancer Center MRI Week 2: Thursday 7am-8pm at the CC; Friday 7am-330pm Milford Hospital MRI

What you will do

• Follow all proper policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
• Assist Technologist in setting up the room.
• Set up proper coil for exam Ensure there is clean linen
• Make available any items, which may assist the patients setup.
• Assist in the patient interview process.
• Safety check list.
• Symptoms and history.
• Determine if prior exams.
• Make sure patient is properly dressed for exam.
• Explain procedure to patient.
• Reassure the patient if anxious.
• Assist technologist in setting the patient for exam.
• Aid the patient getting on table.
• Ensure all safety devices are in place.
• Help makes the patient comfortable.
• Assist technologist upon completion of exam.
• Remove the patient from bore.
• Remove all safety equipment.
• Aid the patient off the table and assist to changing area.
• Assist in checking that all paperwork is complete.
• Assist getting all prior paper work.
• Assist getting all prior pertinent exams.
• Assist in checking that prior exams are on the appropriate workstation.
• Assist with Tech Data Entry.
• Assist with the cleaning and stocking of exam rooms.

Additional Job Description

The pay range for this position is $18/hr-$29/hr + benefits.

Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
