Job summary

Rhode Island Hospital is seeking an MRI Technologist to operate the MRI unit, calibrate equipment, and assist radiologists in producing high‑quality images for adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients. Under supervision, you will screen patients, prepare the scanner, and administer contrast per protocol while ensuring safety and quality documentation.

Responsibilities include patient positioning, image QC, protocol implementation, and participation in ongoing imaging education.

Qualifications

• This position requires thorough knowledge of a specialized MRI technology.
• ARRT or ARMRIT certification and active registry status.
• New grads may obtain certification within 90 days of hire; BLS required.
• Basic understanding of computer consoles and MRI equipment.
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient, family and staff communication.
• Six months of MRI technologist experience or 1200 clinical hours.

Responsibilities

• Operates MRI unit and related equipment to produce MR images.
• Selects proper technical factors and validates patient history for exam.
• Assists radiologists and implements new imaging protocols.
• Performs quality control and safety procedures for high-field MRI.
• Screens patients, prepares the scanner, and positions for imaging.
• Documents exams, administers contrast per protocol, and monitors patients.
